When we do the best that we can, we never know what
miracle is wrought in our life, or in the life of
another.
~Helen Keller
The heights of great men reached and kept,
Were not obtained by sudden flight,
But they, while their companions slept
Were toiling upward in the night.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
“Don't be pushed by your problems. Be
led by your dreams.”
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a
new dream.”
~C. S. Lewis

Technology
Appropriate
Technology is working with technology that is
appropriate for any given community. It takes into
consideration environmental, ethical, cultural, social
and economical aspects of the people and the community
it is intended for. Usually “Appropriate Technology”
requires more labor and fewer dollars, it is easier and
simpler to maintain and operate and it has less of an
impact on the environment.
While Ghana West Africa Missions is using large air
rotary drilling rigs, and highly skilled operators -
there is technology available that would allow a
community to drill a water well using simple equipment,
and communal labor. It is a technology that is
appropriate for communities that are economically
underprivileged, and technologically behind most first
and second world communities. Generally, after a bit of
training, the villagers will be able to drill a water
well for themselves using the simple technology we
provide them with.
We invite you to take advantage of the information we
have supplied and see if you cannot help others to help
themselves, most especially in the area of water
development.
